Slade and Wham have been added to radio station playlists across the country, seasonal ads are all over TV and the decorations are well and truly up. Yes, the most wonderful time of the year is edging ever closer.
However, before we all turn on our out-of-offices and hang up our uniforms for a little break, there is one more important date for us to enjoy. Christmas Jumper Day is back once again to give us a great excuse for embracing the festive spirit.
Being held across the UK today (December 11th), the special event takes place annually and is all about raising funds for Save the Children.
Getting involved could not be simpler, as participants simply have to pull on their best – or silliest – festive knit to spread a little bit of Christmas joy to their friends and loved ones. After that, they can donate £2 to Save the Children and raise vital funds for a great cause in the process.
Now, if you spot anyone wearing a fetching bingo-themed Christmas jumper this year, the chances are that we might have been involved. We are such fans of festive fashion here at Buzz Bingo that we have taken the step of creating our very own jumper design. Why? To help out another important charity.
As you would expect, we have developed a Christmas jumper which skilfully combines a heavy dose of festive fun with a little bit of bingo madness. As well as carrying a festive theme, the red sweater includes two rather provocatively positioned bingo balls on the chest. One features the number 25 and the other 12 to denote our favourite day of the year.
There is more to our creation than just cheeky fun, however. We have been selling the unisex jumpers in small, medium and large on Etsy for £10, with 100% of the proceeds going to our friends at the incredible breast cancer charity the Pink Ribbon Foundation. The grant-making trust provides financial support to UK charities that are helping those affected by the illness and we are proud to have been able to give them a boost this Christmas.
All of this has probably left you with one question – where do I get mine? Well, while we don’t want to disappoint anyone, we are actually delighted to say that the very special Buzz Bingo Christmas jumpers have now sold out.
You will no doubt be gutted to hear that news, but please do not let it stop you from donating to a good cause this Christmas. Whether you choose to support Save the Children, the Pink Ribbon Foundation or another organisation close to your heart, there is no better time to give to charity than in the season of goodwill.
So, don’t be a Scrooge! Throw on your best – or worst – Christmas jumper, crank Slade up to full volume and make a donation to charity today. You could make a massive difference to so many lives.
