We wanted to learn a little bit more about the brilliant teams we have in our clubs and what better place to start than with our lovely General Managers.
We’ll be meeting one manager a week so keep your eyes peeled for any familiar faces.
We’re starting, this week, with Ronnie from Metro Centre.
How long have you worked for us?
How many clubs have you worked in?
Four clubs – Pollok, South Shields, Newcastle & Metro Centre
How long have you been a manager?
Eight years for this company as I came across as a GM. I’ve been a manager for 21 years in total.
What’s the best thing about your club?
I love that we have a lounge!! It’s like having two businesses in one and it’s great fun to manage!
What’s the most exciting thing that has happened while you’ve been a manager?
Meeting Liverpool legend, Ian Rush, at Celtic Manor when I was there for the National Game golf day!
Why should people come to your club?
To see me obviously!!! But really, to experience the lounge and see how bingo can be played a little more relaxed. Plus, we have the best prize boards in the North East!!
What are your favourite hobbies?
I love spending time with my kids! I play golf (10 handicap) and I love cycling.
Hamster sized hippo or hippo sized hamster?
Hamster sized hippo, definitely!
What’s your biggest fear?
We now live in a world where doing the right thing and challenging people can have serious consequences. So, my big fear is how people will react when challenged!
What’s your karaoke song?
Walking in Memphis by Mark Cohn.
What’s your hidden talent?
If you could be on any TV show what would it be and why?
SAS: Who Dares Wins! I am really competitive and I would love to push myself to the limit to see how far I could get.
What would be your specialist subject on Mastermind?
Tom Cruise films.
Thanks for answering our questions Ronnie. We’re worried SAS: Who Dares Wins is a bit hardcore, maybe try Ninja Warrior first?!
