Meet the Manager – Steve from Stafford

Smily Steve from spectacular Stafford is our GM in the spotlight today.

How long have you worked for us?

Three and a half years but that time has flown feels like a few months

How long have you been a manager?

I joined the business as a manager, I have however been a manager since I left Uni 20 years ago

What’s the best thing about your club?

The best thing about Stafford has got to be both the team and the customers, they are such a friendly bunch who have made me so welcome but they can also have a laugh which makes work even more fun

What’s the most exciting thing that has happened while you’ve been a manager?

I was one of the first managers to have National Game £50,000 winner, all the customers came over to say well done to the winning lady, she couldn’t work out why as she thought she had only won £100 when I told her she had won £50,000 she couldn’t believe it, that money literally changed her life it was such a magical feeling being part of it.

Why should people come to your club?

Clearly, they should come to see me and the rest of the team but also the other customers as they are such a great group of people. The club feels more like a social club than a bingo hall, everyone will say hi and get to know you and make you feel so welcome and show you the ropes

What are your favourite hobbies?

I am an avid supporter of American Football (Skol Vikings) so I love sitting down to watch the games, I might even have a cheeky bet or two as well, I also enjoy football, cricket, saving the world on my Playstation, digging huge holes while trying to play golf and I love watching/reading anything to do with history

Hamster sized hippo or hippo sized hamster?

I guess I would have to say a Hamster sized hippo

What’s your biggest fear?

My little boy beating me at rock, paper, scissors

What’s your karaoke song?

Never ever will I ever do karaoke, the world does not need to hear my singing voice

What’s your hidden talent?

Whatever it is it’s still hidden

If you could be on any TV show what would it be and why?

Good Morning Football, there are two reasons, the first one is it’s shot in New York so free holiday to the states but also they talk all things NFL, have a laugh and the players send in really cool freebies

What would be your specialist subject on Mastermind?

Bingo 🙂

Thanks for answering our questions, Steve. We’re sure you’re much better at golf than you make out!
